Welcome to Waiheke Dental Centre

Unite against COVID-19: UPDATE 8TH JULY

Waiheke Dental Centre is very pleased to be open in Level 1.

We are committed  to the health and safety of our Waiheke community, patients, family & friends.

Under Level 1 we are now able to open our doors to patients who require routine dental care.  This means we can arrange to see you for your check up, fix that broken tooth, replace that unsightly filling and give your teeth a good clean! Please be aware we will triage all patients and we are dealing with problems that have arisen for patients since March as well as their routine care. Don’t worry we will find a time for you. Of course you can contact us as well if you have a concern.

We are open 5 days in our listed hours, including evenings. Dr Mike Stevens has been the only dentist full-time on Waiheke during this epidemic.

We are following strict guidelines from the MOH, Dental Council and NZDA under Level 1 rules to treat patients.

Things will be a little bit different still. We will have to do things a little differently and limit contact so that we are ‘playing it safe’ but we will still do our very best to make your dental appointment as stress-free as we can.

Some of the changes from normal include:

  • Asking a few questions relating to your risk of exposure to the Covid-19 virus prior to your appointment and take your temperature.
  • Please come into the surgery alone if possible or discuss this with us prior to coming in (there will be some allowances)
  • Please use our hand sanitiser or wash your hands in our bathroom when you come in and leave
  • Where possible we will be reducing the amount of aerosol created so this will mean a mouthwash before we look in your mouth and the use of a rubber dam where we can
  • At the end of the appointment we will get you to take a seat in the surgery while we write up notes and we will send you through to reception once this is done (and reception is free of other patients) to limit the time in the waiting room when you make another appointment or you are paying

We look forward to seeing you soon.

Please phone the office 09 372-7422 if you have an urgent or emergency dental problem. After hours you can phone Dr Mike Stevens 027 480-4220

For non-urgent dental problems email: info@waihekedental.co.nz or text Dr Stevens on 027 480-4220

Meanwhile stay safe Waiheke, wash your hands, cough or sneeze in to your elbow, stay home, practice physical distancing, keep surfaces clean and look after others. Together we will get through this.

You can have an attractive healthy gorgeous smile all your life.

Dr Stevens and team provide quality dentistry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, enabling you to enjoy the benefits of cosmetic and general dentistry (including laser dentistry).

We have a special interest in Minimal Intervention Dentistry and Biomimetics.

Safe amalgam removal is, of course, a standard.

This is reflected in our guide statement:

“Our guiding principle is to provide quality oral care by performing appropriate treatment to give long lasting solutions. We care for our patients, we endeavour to exceed their expectations and are always warm and welcoming”

You can make an appointment for your oral health care needs from Monday to Friday (including two late nights).
